“Funride 2007 ”

Sunday, February 11, the Bike4U foundation organized a fun ride with the intention of raising funds and creating awareness of the foundation. As early as 6 am, Bike4U Founder and President Jens Funk, Board of directors Boying Rodriguez, Roy Zapata, Wally Ong and Jacs Jacalan were already out at the Asiatown I.T. Park, busy with the registration of the riders, announcing the ride route and enumerating the rules of the road in the middle of a festive group of young people who were ready to roll out. At exactly 7.15, after a short prayer, the bikers were off. Close to 500 mass of yellow jersey’d riders headed to the Family Park in Talamban via a circuitous route. From the I.T. Park, the riders took Salinas Drive, then Gorordo Avenue. From there, they proceeded to the Cebu International Convention Center via Fuente Osmena and Plaza Independencia, where a photo op was made available to all the riders. From the CICC, the riders proceeded to their final stop, the Family Park, were a program was held. Spicing up the event was the presence of Junior Kilat aka, Budoy, one of the premier reggae artist in the country. Bike4U was so surprised by such a huge turnout that a next fun ride is now on the drawing board.
